Shodor's Undergraduate Computational Engineering and Science Program is awarded On November 13th, 2006, an Undergraduate Computational Engineering and Science National Program Award was presented to Robert M. Panoff, Shodor's executive director, for his work implementing the National Computational Science Institute. Presented by the Krell Institute and sponsored by the Department of Energy, the award seeks to "promote and enhance undergraduate education in computational engineering and science." |

Interactivate Featured on the Radio Interactivate, Shodor's popular interactive math education website, was featured on national radio. On December 4th, Shodor's website received around 38,000 extra visitors (or an 80% increase over normal traffic) after Kim Komando featured the software on her radio show. $177,000 grant for SUCCEED Project SUCCEED, currently one of the Foundation's most active programs, received a $177,000 grant from The Burroughs Wellcome Fund in February. This financial award is pivotal in completing Project SUCCEED, and the Burroughs Wellcome Fund has been instrumental in expanding this program to reach dozens of local students from throughout the Triangle. Activities sponsored by this award include the Internet Explorers Club, Computational Science Classes, and Workshops and Research Apprenticeships. |

This prestigious group, consisting of some of the nation's most successful companies, seeks to unite the individual efforts of its members in an attempt to develop national education strategies.
